Rootstock

Scion & Rootstocks

Scion
A bud of a desired variety budded or grafted into a rootstock.

Rootstock
The rootstock determines the size of the tree, vigor and the type of soil conditions it can handle.

All our fruit trees (scions) are propagated onto rootstocks, which have established healthy root systems. They are hand selected and carefully bred for a range of benefits including adaptation to soils or climate, disease and pest resistance, control of tree size and high fruit productivity. Most are clonally produced some are seedlings from a narrow genetic base.

The following varieties are a sample of what Genesis Nurseries can offer and are not limited to our full offering. Please feel free to contact the team today to discuss the right variety for you or discuss possible opportunities.
